Representing Ontario's Utility Contractors Since 1968

Formed in 1968, the UCA is Ontario's accredited body for collective bargaining and labour relations in the utility contracting sector.
AboutFrame2

Built by the Industry. Run for the Industry.

The UCA exists because Ontario's utility contractors needed a single, accredited body to represent them in labor negotiations. That founding purpose still drives everything we do, from managing collective agreements to supporting members with training, events, and resources.

How We Support Our Members

    Collective Bargaining

The UCA negotiates collective agreements between Ontario’s utility contractors and their union partners.

    Labour Relations

We manage relationships between members and their union partners to keep operations running smoothly.

    Remittance Administration

The UCA oversees the collection and processing of member remittances across the industry.

    Events and Networking

We develop safety initiatives and training programs that keep contractor crews compliant and protected.

    Events and Networking

The UCA brings members together through an annual convention, golf tournament, and industry events.

    Member Resources

We provide members with centralized access to agreements, contacts, and the resources they need.

A Message from our Chairman

As the incoming Chairman of the Board of Directors, I would like to welcome you to the UCA.

I had the privilege of being an owner/operator working throughout Ontario in the Utility space (Chatham to SSM) for 50+ years. Almost 15 years ago, the company that I had built became unionized. During this time, the UCA welcomed me and greatly assisted me in the changes and growth over the years. This inspired me to make it a point to provide guidance if, and as required for the UCA and its members. In addition to the business interactions, the UCA is unique in its family first approach and principles, which lends itself to a special comradery. I’m sure you’ll find the UCA rewarding and supportive and I look forward to working with you.
